A few weeks ago, I was trying to read the rough draft of "Midnight Sun," that was posted online on Stepheney Myre's website, (however you spell her name), but the draft is in pdf format, due to the fact that someone had posted it illegally somewhere else. She's posted the draft for people to read, and she had been working on the production for some time, but unfortunately, as you all probably know, she was really upset about her draft being illegally posted and copied, and so the production's been delayed for some time. For those of you who did not read the article, she says that if she were to continue this project right now, they'd all end up dying, since she tends to write according to how she is feeling, and the illegal posting really upset her! So anyway, most of you were probably already aware of this, so my question is:
Has anyone read it? Or been able to read it? Do to the format?
I think you need Adobe to read PDF files.
I'm really anxious to know what will happen in that book, but i would rather wait for the whole book. I just know that Midnight Sun is Twilight from Edward's perspective.
Even if you have Adobe, PDF and JAWS don't always get along very well. It's quite frustrating. No, I have not read it. I'd like to at some point. I always found Edward far more interesting than Bella, so maybe his version of events will be more interesting to me.
some pdf files work with jaws. However, I heard that it is a image file and those, at least to my knowledge will not work with jaws at all. And I don't know of any way to change that format. The reason that format is used is so no one can take it and alter the text. I would like to read it though. I have a friend at work who read it and likes Edward's perspective more.
Hmmm, they would all die? yes! Finally! Ok, fine. DOn't kill me now. It depends on how the PDF is fit to work with accessibility. If you have adobe acrobat 8 or 9, jaws works a lot better with them. Also, you could try PDF2TXT. That might help.
I trtied reading it not long ago but as with JFW, PDF and WIndow-Eyes don't always get along well. And I do have the latest Adobe as well as the latest Window-Eyes.
it depends on how the author formats it. Image files will not read with jaws at least. It can't interact with the image.
That's partly why I don't use JAWS anymore.
I have it in .txt format if anyone's interested?
I thought it was loads better than Bella's perspective in Twilight!
